Hi! I'm Claire deBruyn. Through my counselling practice I work to provide a safe, non-judgemental space for us to collaboratively find solutions personalized for you and your life. My approach helps you gain clarity and awareness, and take steps towards your goals.
Coming to counselling can sometimes feel intimidating or like a big step which is why I always work to make sessions feel validating, warm, educational, and maybe even share some laughs along the way. I work with young adults and adults who are experiencing anxiety or depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, sexuality questions, self-esteem challenges, procrastination, or folks who are just wanting to overall improve their lives and feel better.
I work from a person-centered, feminist, strengths-based, systems-focused lens that considers how social and cultural factors influence our lives. My practice is informed by various counselling modalities including Person-Centered Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Therapy.
Claire works with young adults and adults and is currently taking on new clients for in-person and online sessions.
